LOST HIGHWAY

Left my feelings for you in Tulsa

Keepin my hands upon the {wheel

Oh there just ain’t no easy way

To keep a tumbleweed from goin’ his own way.

Thought I had you in Birmingham

Dancin the dance

You know it feels so good all alone with you

I wanna ride on with you again down that road

So who’s leavin who behind?

Can you really get me off your mind?

But I know I’ll have to drive the lost highway all the way to Mexico

To get you off of mine.

Oh there’s no road, no stage, no town, no place or borderline

Where I don’t see your face

Or the trace of a melody or some kinda sign

Where I helped you make it through the night.

Now I ain’t saying that I’d steal

Your poor heart or all of your time

Oh, I just want us to feel what’s real for so long now

Three words on the steps of some fire escape

In a bar down in Memphis

Well I Guess all this confessin is just messin

Messin up your mind

So who’s leavin who behind?

Can you really get me off your mind?

But I know I’ll have to drive the lost highway all the way to Mexico

To get you off of mine.

Oh there’s no road, no stage, no town, no place or borderline

Where I don’t see your face

Or the  trace of a melody or some kinda  sign

Where I helped you make it through the night.

Tears into the river in San Antone

I wrote you a letter and I {Am/B}buried it in the {C}sand

Just outside of Sante Fe

On my way, back home.

KINGDOM OF FOOLS

There's a river running through the kingdom of fools

Full of all the Queen's fears and people she's drowned.
There is a countryside of faces with open eyes but nothing inside,
May those burdened by their silver spoons find an early grave.

Easy street's 'bout the shortest street around

Cold and mean reigns the Queen, in bad company.

And there's a man who would be King, if there's such a thing in this hell

He sits beside an empty chair and sings outloud-

To a deaf, Kingdom of Fools.

Not enough saints, only sinners too close to the crown.

They smile for the King but all they do is let him down.

The Queen picks her prey and follows them mercilessly,

Tell no tales, nobody hears your wails anyway.

There are words that have been written,

Many times have been spoken and found their way into song.

People they come, they come to listen,

But there's only one who hears.

There's a river running through the Kingdom of Oblivion

Full of all the King's tears.

ASTRAL TEARDROPS

I wanna take you to the place where all our secret love awaits

To walk you down the road crossing all the lines drawn between us.

Bathe you in all the waters of my tears once cried,

Walk through a field of flowers,
Each one an unspoken word between us, now in bloom.

Lay you upon the bed of all things left unsaid

And open the doors to all the smiles we've kept hidden.

Walk the dreamscapes with our longing underfoot

Never no more the  disguises.

Lay with you in our astral garden,

Where the sun sets and our love it rises.
Where whispers were once silenced by shame

Where our melodies drift upon the sands of time.
Every touch nearly laid upon your skin, finally dissolves the lines between us.

Astral teardrops water our secret garden,

Water of love pours into our ocean of emotion.

I will wait for you here.
